River Oaks Property Owners Association Board Meeting Minutes
Attendees: Board Members: Nix, Roberson; Officers: Fowler, House, Long, Underwood
Business: Fowler called the meeting to order at 7:10pm
at the club house at River Oaks golf course.
Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the previous meeting of the
POA board (30 August 2022) were approved (moved by Nix, seconded by Roberson).
Open Discussion:
Fowler reported that there were so many statements to be circulated to
the members that the recommendation was to mail them out with the call for the
annual meeting so that the members will have the information in print in their
hands. This mailout will be sent in
early January when the Harding Press workers are available. He noted especially the call for the annual
meeting on January 24 at the Extension Service Building and the discounted
assessment. The board had received that
document, as well as the statements on solar panels and short-term leases, earlier
and had reviewed each. Fowler noted that
both he and McMullen are wanting to step aside from their current
positions. The board will need to fill
both the president’s role and the chair of the architectural standards
committee. McMullen noted that there is
still a good deal of concern about the drainage issues. It was suggested that the newly elected mayor
Mat Faulkner be invited to a called meeting to discuss city infrastructure issues
in the River Oaks area. Nix noted that
having activities is still an issue and that the board should find a person
willing to coordinate the activities. The
Board agreed that a call for nominations for the upcoming vacancy—the seat now
held by Finley--should be included in the call for the meeting with a 10-day
window for the nominations to be presented to the officers. After discussion, Roberson moved to approve
the plans as outlined, Nix seconded the motion which was approved.
Next Meeting: No date for a future meeting was set.
Adjournment: Nix moved to adjourn the meeting, Roberson
seconded, and the meeting adjourned at 7:40PM.
